Aluminium Triangle Buckle – Anodized

This aluminium triangle for harnesses works as an alternative to classic D-rings. The cast body with a fixed crossbar reduces the weight of the finished product.

Construction and specifications

• Weight and load capacity: The fitting weighs 11 g and offers a load capacity of 350 kg. The original zinc alloy version in the same width is heavier (35 g) and has a load capacity of only 150 kg.
• Bottom slot: Has an inner height of 9 mm. Allows the webbing to be sewn in firmly or riveted.
• Top eye: Inner dimensions are 30 × 20 mm. Used for attaching a snap hook.

Limitations and notes for makers

• Material thickness of 6 mm: The top eye requires a snap hook with a matching gate opening.
• Slot limitation: The 9 mm height does not allow a second free end of the webbing to pass through. The fitting cannot be used for collars with a pin buckle.

Use and recommended hardware

Two of these fittings can be used together on a harness. One forms the main attachment point on the back. The other sits on the chest to redirect the pull when walking the dog.

A compatible gate opening for the 6 mm thickness is available on the aluminium snap hooks in our range. Using them will help keep the overall weight of the assembly to a minimum.
