Chain Collars for Dog Shows – what to choose?

Snake chain dog show collars do not pull out coat hair or break the line of the neck. The classic one is a chain threaded through a ring: it tightens when the dog pulls and loosens again straight away. It sits high behind the ears and suits calm dogs that do not pull in the ring. The martingale tightens only by the length of a short loop, so it never chokes fully, and the dog cannot back out of it. Choose it for young dogs, dogs that pull and dogs that slip out of collars. Neither is meant for everyday wear.

Parameter guide

What the parameters mean and how to choose the right values.

The length of the whole collar, end to end. This is how you choose the size: the collar goes on over the dog's head, so it must be at least as long as the head circumference at its widest point. If you measure 50 cm, choose a collar of 50 cm or longer.

Chain thickness indicates the wire diameter the chain is made from. It affects strength, weight, and overall appearance.
