    Natural

    No surface finish — the bare material in its natural colour and structure. Appearance depends entirely on what the part is made from.

  • Abrasion resistance

    High

    Resists daily use even with active dogs. The surface holds its original appearance for a long time, even when in contact with straps, snaps or other hard surfaces.

  • Corrosion protection

    Very good

    Strong protection even in humid and demanding environments. The material under the finish stays protected even with frequent water contact and adverse weather.

  • Nickel

    No

    The finish contains no nickel in any layer. A safe choice for allergy sufferers and for products intended for direct contact with sensitive skin.

Damp conditions Fully waterproof Finish withstands even permanent contact with water including submersion. Water does not damage it, change its colour or structure. Reliable even in permanently wet environments.
Aging Stable Long-term holds its original appearance — colour, gloss and structure. Even after months of regular use it looks virtually the same as new.
Process Electrochemical The material surface is converted into a hard oxide layer. This is not a coating applied from outside — it is a transformation of the surface itself, making it extremely adhesive and durable.

How anodising is made

Aluminium is immersed in a bath and an electric current converts its surface into a hard oxide layer. It isn't a coating – it's a transformation of the metal itself, so it can't flake off.

What it gives the product

Hardness, excellent corrosion protection and a choice of colours from silver to black. No nickel.

When to choose it and when not to

Everything made from aluminium and its alloys – snap hooks, Cobra buckles, swivels. Anodising can't be applied to other metals; there, electroplating or PVD does the job instead.

How it ages

Colour and surface hold for years; extreme abrasion against rock can wear the layer through locally, but everyday use won't.

What it pairs with

Sport and outdoor products; black anodising with reflective webbing is a proven combination.
