Stainless Steel Snap Shackles – what to choose?
Stainless steel snap shackles are used in yachting, construction, theater and film. They are reliable fasteners with a high load capacity. They have a safety pin that is secured by a cotter pin or spring mechanism. Cotter pins are safer but slower to manipulate, while the spring mechanism allows for quicker use.

The dimension of the whole piece, end to end. It tells you how much room the fitting takes on the finished item; whether it fits the webbing is decided by Eye width. The whole piece is measured, not just its working part, so two pieces with the same eye width can differ in length.
Inner width of the snap hook eye – determines the maximum width of material you can thread through. Choose an eye the same width or slightly wider than your strap, rope or leather lace.
Gate opening indicates how wide the snap hook opens. It determines the maximum diameter of the ring or D-ring the hook can clip onto.
