Double Ended Snap Hooks – what to choose?

A double-ended snap hook has a gate on both ends, so it joins two eyes without an extra ring, for example a lead and a harness. It comes in lengths of 88–100 mm in stainless steel, cast brass or chrome-plated zinc alloy, with a rating of 160–200 kg depending on the model.

Parameter guide

What the parameters mean and how to choose the right values.

The dimension of the whole piece, end to end. It tells you how much room the fitting takes on the finished item; whether it fits the webbing depends on the eye width. The whole piece is measured, not just its working part, so two pieces with the same eye width can differ in length.

Inner width of the snap hook eye – determines the maximum width of material you can thread through. Choose an eye the same width or slightly wider than your strap, rope or leather lace.

Gate opening indicates how wide the snap hook opens. It determines the maximum diameter of the ring or D-ring the hook can clip onto.
