Dog Tags – what to choose?

Dog tags are attached to the collar and make it easy to identify your dog or cat if lost. Your pet's name and your phone number can be engraved on the tag. Dog ID tags are a beautiful addition to your pet's collar.

Parameter guide

Dog Tags: what the parameters mean and how to choose the right values.

The width of the piece itself, that is how much room it takes across the finished item. Compare it with the width of the collar or strap: an ornament wider than the strap overhangs and catches on things.

The outer height of the piece, that is how far it stands out on the finished item. On ornaments and clasps it decides whether the item still folds and whether it catches on things; it is not tied to the strap size.

The thickness of the sheet the piece is cut or pressed from. It decides the stiffness and whether the piece can be bent to shape; on tags it also decides how deep text can be stamped into it.

The colour of the version. On webbing and rope it is the colour of the material, on hardware the colour of the finish. A shade on a photo and on a screen differs from the real thing, so when reordering into a series already under way, compare by the name of the shade, not by the picture.
