Conical Rivets – what to choose?

Here you will find conical rivets. These are used to decorate dog collars or various knife or gun cases and backpacks.

Parameter guide

What the parameters mean and how to choose the right values.

The head diameter expresses the size of the decorative rivet head. It influences the product’s visual impact: smaller heads appear more subtle, while larger ones create a bolder look.

The shank length indicates the suitable material thickness for stud-type rivets. For a clean setting without damaging the decorative head, choose a shank about 2–3 mm longer than the riveted layer thickness.

Shank diameter is the thickness of the rivet section passing through the material and directly determines the joint strength.

The height of the dome above the leather once riveted. A taller dome shows more on the item but also catches more easily; a lower one suits places where the surface should stay smooth.

How many rivets come in one pack. Both dome and cone rivets are sold in packs of 100; the price is for the whole pack.

Frequently asked questions

The most common questions – materials, selection and practical tips.

The total thickness of the layers you're joining decides. Add the shank overhang needed for spreading: the shank should be 2–3 mm longer than the material thickness.

The shank length is listed for every rivet in the dimensions table as dimension B — the full range is in the Rivets & Screws category.

The hole diameter differs by material. For leather, choose a punch slightly smaller than the shank diameter — leather is elastic and grips the shank tightly. For waterproof webbing, choose a punch that matches the shank exactly; the webbing doesn't stretch, so the shank has to pass through without being forced.

A shank that's too long shows up as a rivet that deforms while spreading, or caps that don't line up.
