Kemovan Multi-Size Wood Slicker
One tool, a flawless edge. Right now, you can feel under your fingers how a rough leather edge transforms into a velvety smooth surface. With the multi-purpose Kemovan burnisher made from exotic Cocobolo wood, you no longer need to look for anything else in your workshop – thanks to five different groove widths on a single head, it handles everything from fine watch straps to heavy-duty belts.
Why Cocobolo wood?
Cocobolo is not just beautiful to look at. It is an extremely dense and naturally oily wood that generates the ideal amount of heat during hand burnishing. This heat, combined with #Tokonole CL 120g or #2620-01, seals the leather pores faster and reinforces the edge more effectively than common soft woods.
- Absolute control: Compared to motorized burnishers, a hand tool gives you complete control over pressure. You will especially appreciate this in detailed leatherwork, where even a slight variation in pressure can permanently damage the edge.
- Silence and freedom: No cables, no motor noise. Just the quiet of your workshop and full focus on the detail that makes the essential difference between an original piece and mass production.
- Ergonomics that won’t tire you out: The 20 mm diameter fits perfectly in the palm of your hand. The burnisher does not slip and allows you to apply exactly the amount of pressure the leather requires.
Notice: As this is a hand-finished product made from solid natural wood, each piece is unique. The color tone and wood grain may vary slightly from the photos, which is a mark of authenticity and quality in this material.
Expert's opinion

Craft isn't just about feel – it's about understanding the material and the process. If it works in my workshop, it'll work in yours.
The burnisher surprised me at first with its unconventional shape, but the moment you grip it in your palm, you understand – the wider section you hold is incredibly comfortable and gives you far better stability than classic narrow burnishers. At first glance, it is clear that Kemovan put a great deal of care into polishing the wood itself; the surface is perfectly smooth, without the slightest hint of a rough edge.
I tested the burnisher in combination with Tokonole on natural vegetable-tanned leather, and the result is genuinely solid. The dark Cocobolo wood is also highly practical, as over time it does not show stains from burnishing compounds, which often look unsightly on lighter wooden tools. It is simply important to keep the burnisher clean when switching from dark dyed leather to very light shades.
The five grooves easily cover different edge thicknesses, but what pleased me most is the versatility of the opposite side of the tool. The wider, rounded section works perfectly for smoothing the flesh side of leather, so you don’t need to set the tool down and pick up another one during your work. For me, this is currently a top-tier burnisher that combines a premium look with truly outstanding ergonomics.
I evaluate objectively what others only guess.
