Metal Chicago screws are used for making belts, collars, or for joining materials. They consist of two parts – a hollow screw with an internal thread and a solid head that acts as a closed nut, and a matching screw for tightening the connection. The advantage of a screw connection is quick and easy handling, for example when replacing a belt buckle or joining two materials. The listed price is for the entire pack (100 pcs)!
How to choose the correct screw length?
Whether you are joining leather, webbing, or another material, the key factor is the material thickness. The correct size of a Chicago screw is when the length of the screw post (value B in the table) is 2 mm shorter than the total thickness of the joined materials.
Note: These screws have a special finish that is created through a very labor-intensive hand process. Each piece has to be screwed together by hand, plated individually, then hand-polished and finally unscrewed again one by one. This manual handling of every single piece increases labor costs – and with it, the final price.
TIP: To ensure a 100% solid connection it will suffice to apply a drop of thread locking adhesive to the screw
