Parameter guide

What the parameters of double cap rivets mean and how to choose the right values.

The shank length determines how thick a material can be riveted. For proper setting, choose a shank 2–3 mm longer than the total material thickness – the joint will be strong, even, and free from head deformation.

The shank diameter defines the thickness of the rivet part that passes through the material. Choose it so that the hole in the leather or webbing is slightly smaller than the shank diameter — ensuring a tight fit after riveting.

Head diameter defines the size of the visible part of the saddler’s rivet and affects both appearance and load capacity along the edge. For soft or perforated materials and tensioned areas, a larger head provides better pressure distribution.
