If you are building a halter designed to last for generations and withstand even the strongest horses, stainless steel is the only right choice. This 3-way square is a monolithic casting with no welds. Stainless steel stands out for its exceptional toughness – unlike common metals, it does not become brittle in freezing temperatures and will not give way under sudden tensile stress. In addition, it is completely immune to horse sweat and moisture.

My workshop recommendation: A stainless steel casting is slightly heavier and more robust, which adds stability and a touch of luxury to halters for sport and large horses. When stitching, just make sure to check parameter A (the internal width) so the webbing fits precisely in the opening and the square can distribute the load evenly in all three directions.
