Craftool Round End Punches 19 mm

The Craftool hand-forged half-round punch creates a clean, symmetrical radius on a belt end in a single strike. It replaces the slow work of trimming with a knife and delivers a crisp, square cut free of burrs that you can immediately finish with an edge beveler or dye. The tool is built to punch cleanly through classic vegetable-tanned leather as well as water-resistant straps.

Material and Features

• Hand-forged Swedish steel: compared to common punches made from softer alloys, this tool has a solid body that transfers the force of each strike without loss. The blade holds its sharpness and shape even during intensive production runs through thick leather and plastic straps.
• Half-round profile: produces a rounded end without sharp corners. This shape physically prevents the belt ends from bending and wearing prematurely during everyday use in collars or belts.

Notes for Makers

• Exact width required: The punch must be used on a belt strip of exactly the same width (in this case, a 19 mm tool on a 19 mm strap). If you punch through narrower material, the curve will not flow smoothly into the side edges and visible steps will appear. For other strap widths, the matching tool size must be used.
• High material resistance: Punching through the full arc profile in thick leather or layered PVC takes considerable force. A hand press or a firm strike with a heavy non-metallic mallet is essential.

Recommended Add-Ons

• Wax #2015-00 and a protective board #3464-00 for maximum protection and longer blade life. We recommend using a polyurethane-head mallet #3303-11 to avoid damaging the striking surface of the tool.
