Craftool Multi-Size Strap End Punch 19 mm

This hand-forged Craftool punch cuts a clean, symmetrical English point in a single strike. Instead of slowly trimming leather against a template, you get a straight, burr-free cut right away — ready to run through an edge beveler and slicker immediately. The sharper, tapered profile makes it much easier to thread heavy leather through tight loops and prong buckles on belts, dog collars, or horse halters.

Material and features

• Hand-forged Swedish steel: unlike common alternatives, the tool has a solid body that transfers the full force of each strike. The blade holds its sharpness and shape even when punching through heavy leather in longer runs.
• English point profile: produces a smooth yet defined taper that is mechanically better suited for threading through tight buckles than a standard round end.

Notes for makers

• Exact width required: the punch must be used on a belt strip of exactly the same width (e.g. a 19 mm tool on a 19 mm strap). If you punch through narrower material, the point loses its smooth edge transition and the proportions distort.
• Not suited for thin leather: the sharp tip will bend and start to wear quickly on very thin or soft material. For those leathers, choose a punch with a rounded end instead.
• High material resistance: punching through the full profile of heavy saddlery leather takes considerable force. A hand press or a firm strike with a heavy non-metal mallet is essential.

Recommended add-ons

• Wax #2015-00 and a cutting board #3464-00 for maximum blade protection and longer edge life. We recommend using a polyurethane head mallet #3303-11 to avoid damaging the striking face of the tool.
