Craftool Multi-Size Strap End Punch 50 mm

This hand-forged Craftool punch cuts a clean, symmetrical pointed tip on the end of a leather belt strip. It replaces the slow process of scribing and trimming by hand with a knife. You save time, and every belt end looks exactly the same, even if you punch through fifty of them in a row.

Material and Features

• Hand-forged Swedish steel: unlike cheap punches made from softer alloys, this tool cuts cleanly through thick leather in a single strike. The blade dulls more slowly and needs sharpening far less often.
• For belt strips up to 50 mm wide: the open blade is designed for leather up to this width. If you are punching a narrower strip, simply center it on the blade before striking.
• Square pointed profile: creates a narrower tip than classic half-round punches. This makes it easier to thread the end of a heavy belt strip through a tight buckle or a leather keeper.

A Note for Makers

Always place a protective mat under the leather when punching. The blade must not strike a hard work surface directly after passing through the material. Working on an unsuitable surface dulls the blade unnecessarily and can cause permanent damage.

• Wax #2015-00 and the protective board #3464-00 for maximum protection and longer edge life. We also recommend using a mallet with a polyurethane head #3303-11 to avoid damaging the striking surface of the tool.
