You are here: Pet Hardware Leather Materials Leather Straps by the Meter Leather Strap with Cowhide Hair 20 mm, Leopard
Before cutting, I unroll the whole roll and find the joins, because the lengths of the individual sections are irregular and cutting blind makes no sense. Only then do I plan which part will become a collar, a leash or another piece. At a join the top layer is interrupted, and with a sharp bend, around a buckle for example, it can start to peel. When it starts to peel, I press the layers together with glue and stitch the spot.
It was no trouble to work with, and I made a multi-way leash and a collar from it. I heat-seal the cut ends and stitch them where possible. I tried pulling apart unstitched ends by hand and the layers held; I could not separate them. Even so, on cut ends I trust stitching more than glue alone. On both the multi-way leash and the collar the pattern worked on its own, and with gold-tone hardware the finished piece looked striking, but not overdone.
