Angelus Acrylic Finisher is a professional acrylic top coat designed to seal and protect dyed leather surfaces. This water-based finish dries into a continuous, highly flexible film that “locks in” the color and helps protect it from cracking, peeling, and everyday environmental wear.
The High Gloss version delivers a bold, deep shine with a strong mirror-like effect. It’s an ideal choice for projects that call for a luxurious, “factory-fresh” look—such as dress shoes, designer handbags, or premium accessories.
Key features for makers:
- Color lock and protection: Effectively seals in Angelus pigments, helps prevent rub-off, and improves surface resistance to scratches and dirt.
- High elasticity: Designed to move with the material. It stays flexible even in high-bend areas and won’t readily crack or flake.
- Water-resistant barrier: Once fully cured, it forms a non-permeable layer that helps protect leather from moisture and harsh weather.
Recommended application: Apply only after the final coat of dye has fully dried. For maximum shine, we recommend applying two to three very thin coats. Apply with a sponge, cloth, brush, or spray gun. Before regular wear or heavy use, allow the finish to fully cure for at least 24 hours.

With the High Gloss version, it is all about that unmistakable “wow effect.” It is the finishing touch for formal shoes or design-driven accessories that are meant to stand out. But be aware – high gloss on leather does not forgive mistakes. Every speck of dust, every particle, every uneven spot will show, so take real care during application.
For the deepest possible shine, I recommend applying several very thin coats. This builds optical depth that looks truly impressive.
Whether you use a sponge or a brush, work smoothly and with a light hand. The biggest mistake is going back over the same spot several times once the finish starts to set – that is exactly how you “whip” air bubbles into it or create visible marks that will not look good once fully cured.
The most important thing? Truly give it the full 24 hours. The finish needs time to chemically cure so the leather surface becomes genuinely resistant to scratches and fingerprints.
