Angelus Acrylic Finisher – Protective Finish (Glossy): 29.5 ml
Angelus Acrylic Finisher is a professional acrylic top coat designed to seal and protect dyed leather surfaces. This water-based finish dries into a continuous, highly flexible film that “locks in” the color and helps protect it from cracking, peeling, and everyday environmental wear.
The Normal version gives your piece a clean, natural new-leather look with a very subtle, understated sheen. It’s a versatile choice for a wide range of leather goods when you want to preserve the material’s original character.
Key features for makers:
- Color lock and protection: Effectively seals in Angelus pigments, helps prevent rub-off, and improves surface resistance to scuffs, scratches, and dirt.
- High elasticity: Designed to move with the material. It stays flexible even in high-bend areas and won’t readily crack or flake.
- Water-resistant barrier: Once fully cured, it forms a non-permeable layer that helps protect leather from moisture and harsh weather.
Recommended application: Apply only after the final coat of dye has fully dried. Use thin, even layers with a sponge, soft cloth, brush, or spray gun. Before regular wear or heavy use, allow the finish to fully cure for at least 24 hours.

Craft isn't just about feel – it's about understanding the material and the process. If it works in my workshop, it'll work in yours.
This finish is my safe bet whenever I want a natural-looking result. The Normal version does not try to steal the show – it is neither a deep matte nor a mirror gloss. It delivers exactly that fresh leather look you know from shoes or accessories straight out of the store.
I always recommend: Apply two to three extremely thin coats rather than one thick layer. This way, the finish bonds better to the leather surface and retains its outstanding flexibility. Angelus finishes are unique in this regard, as they do not crack even in areas where the material constantly bends during wear.
Just avoid going back over the same spot with the brush once the finish starts to set, otherwise you may create unwanted streaks or bubbles. If you rush the entire process, the surface can remain tacky.
Let the finish work undisturbed and allow the full recommended 24 hours for it to cure properly.
I evaluate objectively what others only guess.
