The 15 kg Craftplus bench strap cutter is designed to cut multiple straps simultaneously from a single piece of leather. The 127 mm working shaft can be fitted with the required number of circular blades and spacer rings. Using four blades, you can cut up to three perfectly sized straps with clean, smooth edges in a single pass. The side hand crank works together with the lower nylon roller to feed the leather smoothly through the machine while reducing the risk of jamming.

• Handles heavy leather: Suitable for cutting vegetable-tanned and other bovine leather up to 4.5 mm thick.
• Consistent strap width: Steel spacer rings precisely determine the blade spacing. When the shaft is tightened correctly and the leather is fed straight, every strap maintains a consistent width.
• Minimum strap width of 4 mm: The narrowest possible cut is achieved using a 1 mm cutting blade together with the thinnest 3 mm spacer ring.
• Efficient for production runs: Ideal for workshops producing repeated batches of collars, leashes or belts in identical dimensions.

Practical Tips and Important Notes

• Tighten the shaft securely: Always fill any remaining space on the shaft with the appropriate combination of spacer rings. The shaft must be completely filled so the assembly can be tightened firmly and the blades cannot shift under pressure.
• Prepare a straight guide edge: The machine will not correct an uneven leather edge. Before feeding the leather into the cutter, trim the first guide edge manually using a straightedge.
• Secure the machine firmly: Bolt the cutter securely to your workbench. Pulling thick leather through the machine can reduce stability if it is not properly fixed.
• Allow time for width changes: Changing strap widths requires loosening the shaft, removing the blades and rearranging the spacer rings, which typically takes 10–15 minutes. For one-off jobs with frequent size changes, a manual wooden strap cutter is usually the faster option.

To maintain clean cuts and protect the blades, regularly inspect the condition of the lower nylon roller. If the cut straps develop fuzzy edges or the roller becomes deeply scored and no longer provides proper support, it is time to replace it.
