Eco-Flo Gel Antique 236 ml: Black
Eco-Flo Gel Antique is a thick, water-based gel dye designed to create a patina and antique look on vegetable-tanned leather. The gel enhances the natural texture of the leather and produces a relief effect, where the color remains darker in impressions and cuts, while raised areas stay lighter. Thanks to its gel consistency, it allows for clean application and makes it easy to squeeze out an exact amount of dye directly from the bottle.
Key Features
- Antique leather effect: Instantly adds depth and a vintage character to new products.
- Gel consistency: Easy to apply, non-drip formula that enables precise work in folds and impressions.
- Enhances stamping: Ideal for decorated leather, highlighting every detail of the embossed pattern.
- Easy cleanup: Tools and hands can be easily washed with soap and warm water after use.
Application
Shake the bottle thoroughly before use. Apply the gel generously onto a dry, soft cloth or sheepskin wool. Work it quickly into the leather using circular motions until you achieve an even shade across the entire surface. Immediately wipe off any excess gel with a clean cloth. Once dry, buff the surface to a soft sheen and apply a final protective finish, such as Super Shene #2610-01, to seal the color.
Recommendations and Warnings
This product is not suitable for suede or nubuck leather. Never pour the gel directly onto the leather, as this may cause dark stains.
Caution: This product must not be exposed to freezing temperatures. Check suitable shipping conditions.
Expert's opinion

Craft isn't just about feel – it's about understanding the material and the process. If it works in my workshop, it'll work in yours.
Gel antiquing is my favorite technique for decorated belts and bags. Unlike liquid dyes, this gel gives you more control and prevents the color from running. It beautifully highlights every knife cut and every strike of the stamping tool.
My Practical Tip: You do not have to use the gel only for stamping. It also works perfectly as a classic dye on smooth leather – creating a rich, deep shade with subtle shading that looks far more vibrant than alcohol-based dyes. Always apply the gel using circular motions to ensure the color reaches every area. The key is immediate removal of excess – if left on the surface too long, the dye will begin to dry and you will no longer be able to adjust it. Keep in mind that some finishes (top coats) may slightly reactivate the color during application, so work gently and with a clean cloth to avoid smearing that beautiful contrast.
I evaluate objectively what others only guess.
