The Kemovan Edge Beveler with a D2 steel cutting head and ebony handle makes perfect sense for anyone who regularly bevels edges on belts, sheaths, or leashes—and doesn’t want to sharpen as often as with softer steels. You’ll appreciate it most when working with firmer vegetable-tanned leather on a regular basis.
- Longer-lasting edge – When working with firm leather, D2 steel holds its edge much longer than common softer steels and helps you keep your cuts clean.
- Smooth, tear-free cuts – The round grind softens sharp edges into a smoother curve. With proper technique, it snags less and tears the edge far less than a dull or poorly chosen tool.

Limits and care to keep in mind:
Premium materials have their limits. D2 steel is hard and long-lasting, but it doesn’t like prying, drops on concrete, or contact with metal. After use, a quick wipe and a drop of oil will help protect the blade from oxidation. The ebony handle is tough, but it’s still wood—if it comes into contact with dyes or workshop chemicals, wipe it dry. And remember: while this tool handles saddle leather beautifully, it may not give as clean a result on very soft chrome-tanned leathers.
