Are you looking for a material that is as supple as soft leather, yet retains the durability of plastic? This flexible version of round leather imitation uses a specially softened PVC compound. The result is a rope that is significantly more pliable, more comfortable in the hand, and easy to work with when creating smaller loops and detailed elements.
- Extra softness and flexibility: Compared to the standard version (model #CR06/B), this compound is considerably more flexible and easier to knot.
- 100% waterproof: Despite its softness, it does not absorb a single drop of water, does not change weight, and dries quickly.
- Comfort for hand and animal: Thanks to its smoother surface, it is ideal for leads that do not cut into the palms or for halter nosebands.
- High durability: It resists abrasion, does not stretch out, and is fully resistant to bacteria and mold.
- Packaging: The rope is supplied in 30 m lengths with a maximum of three splices per roll.

Craft isn't just about feel – it's about understanding the material and the process. If it works in my workshop, it'll work in yours.
I recommend this soft version wherever flexibility and a comfortable grip are the priority. While standard PVC rope can feel somewhat stiff in smaller diameters, this flexible compound feels much more natural and supple. It is an ideal choice for manufacturing leads that fold easily into the hand and do not create pressure points.
Technical note on assembly: Due to the softer compound, stitching is strongly not recommended, as the thread could cut through the material under load. Wire rope clamps are the best solution here – thanks to the rope’s softness, the clamp seats perfectly into the surface, creating an extremely strong and stable connection.
My tip: If you are producing gear for smaller dog breeds or pony halters, this version allows for much cleaner bends at the snap hooks. For a professional finish, I recommend using rope end caps secured with a drop of Loctite adhesive, which bonds immediately and firmly to this material.
