The shank length indicates the suitable material thickness for stud-type rivets. For a clean setting without damaging the decorative head, choose a shank about 2–3 mm longer than the riveted layer thickness.

Shank diameter is the thickness of the rivet section passing through the material and directly determines the joint strength.
