Plastic Loop 10 mm, rounded
The plastic webbing keeper is a practical accessory for anyone making lightweight harnesses, collars, hip packs, or backpacks. It’s designed to easily and reliably secure the loose end of your webbing, so it stays out of the way and doesn’t slip out on its own. It’s the ideal choice wherever you want to keep your gear light and avoid the clinking of metal hardware.
Main advantages:
- Acetal Material: Unlike regular soft plastics, acetal (POM) is rigid and mechanically tough. The keeper holds its shape, doesn’t stretch, and grips the webbing exactly as you set it.
- Silent and discreet: Plastic hardware makes no noise when you move. You’ll appreciate this not only with hunting gear, but also on everyday dog walks where metal clinking can be annoying.
- Webbing protection: The inner edges are rounded and smooth. The webbing won’t fray as you adjust it, and the keeper slides smoothly without damaging the fabric structure.
- Carefree maintenance: The material is completely immune to corrosion. It can handle long soaks, mud, and frequent machine washing without a problem.
What to watch out for:
While acetal is very durable, the plastic can become more brittle in extreme cold. If you’re making gear for arctic conditions or professional mushing, consider using metal alternatives.

Craft isn't just about feel – it's about understanding the material and the process. If it works in my workshop, it'll work in yours.
I use Plastic Loops on products where weight and comfort matter. Acetal is top-tier in this segment – strong enough to keep its shape over time without loosening, while still staying lightweight. It pairs perfectly with plastic side-release buckles and buckles, creating a consistent look and a unified function.
My Practical Tip: When choosing a loop, always match the webbing width – if you use 25 mm webbing, choose a 25 mm loop so the webbing does not slide around unnecessarily. The loop is purely an organizing component that keeps the loose end in place. If you notice light marks or hairline cracks (for example after a strong impact or being stepped on), it is best to replace it. One of the advantages of plastic is that the product does not feel bulky, and the overall look stays very clean.
I evaluate objectively what others only guess.
