Craft isn't just about feel – it's about understanding the material and the process. If it works in my workshop, it'll work in yours.
The pliers are really fantastic – their blades are incredibly sharp and can cut through practically anything. I use them way more often than scissors, though I was a bit cautious with vegetable-tanned leather because it's tougher and might dull the blades faster. That said, I had no issues cutting through 4mm leather. The pliers feel great in hand, they’re not heavy, and even after dropping them on the floor (shhh, you didn’t hear that from me), they remained undamaged.
Replacing the blades and pads is super easy, plus there’s a handy compartment for spare blades right on the pliers. The only downside is the cutting pads – you can clearly tell they’re 3D-printed, and I’m worried they might not withstand long-term pressure. The holes for the screws were also a bit tricky – the screws didn’t go in smoothly, probably because there’s no thread, and the holes weren’t cleaned properly after manufacturing.
The cutting pad that adjusts the angle isn’t entirely accurate, 90° isn’t exactly 90°, so you’ll have to tweak the settings a bit. If I could suggest something to improve, it would definitely be the cutting pad – a sturdier metal version would be much better. The plastic one is a good idea but a bit undercooked – not quite there in terms of precision.
Still, I’d wholeheartedly recommend these pliers – they cut precisely and far better than any scissors.
