Angelus Acrylic Finisher – Protective Finish (Satin): 29.5 ml
Angelus Acrylic Finisher is a professional acrylic top coat designed to seal and protect dyed leather surfaces. This water-based finish dries into a continuous, highly flexible film that “locks in” the color and helps protect it from cracking, peeling, and everyday environmental wear.
The Satin version gives your piece a sophisticated, velvety semi-matte look. The result feels very natural, making it an ideal choice for premium leather goods like handbags, wallets, belts, or car interiors.
Key features for makers:
- Color lock and protection: Effectively seals in Angelus pigments, helps prevent rub-off, and improves surface resistance to scratches and dirt.
- High elasticity: Designed to move with the material. It stays flexible even in high-bend areas and won’t readily crack or flake.
- Water-resistant barrier: Once fully cured, it forms a non-permeable layer that helps protect leather from moisture and harsh weather.
Recommended application: Apply only after the final coat of dye has fully dried. Use thin, even layers with a sponge, soft cloth, brush, or spray gun. Before regular wear or heavy use, allow the finish to fully cure for at least 24 hours.

Craft isn't just about feel – it's about understanding the material and the process. If it works in my workshop, it'll work in yours.
A satin finish is, in my view, the perfect middle ground. It gives leather exactly the look you know from quality products in stores – that soft, velvety sheen that never feels cheap.
Be careful during application, though. If you are working with a sponge, avoid “whipping” the finish too much, as that can create air bubbles. Once dry, those bubbles may remain on the leather as tiny craters.
Apply the finish in thin coats using long, smooth strokes. The most important factor is patience. Even if the surface feels dry to the touch after a short while, allow a full 24 hours for it to cure undisturbed.
Only then will it achieve the right level of durability and that beautiful, even semi-matte look that makes satin finishes so popular.
I evaluate objectively what others only guess.
