This gel for finishing the edges of waterproof webbings pleasantly surprised me. I’ll admit, when I first used it, I wondered if I could even apply it well enough to make it look good. It takes a bit of practice and patience, no denying that. But once you get the hang of it, it becomes a routine you’ll quickly come to appreciate. And the result? The edge looks like a natural part of the webbing – no exposed textiles, no distracting cut edges. Just a clean, smooth, and pleasant-to-touch surface.
What I love about it is its simplicity. The gel has just the right consistency to be easily applied, even with an ordinary awl. You don’t need to buy any special tools – whatever you already have in your workshop will do. And if you want to perfect the edges, try adding a layer of Angelus paint. This combination turns a plain webbing into something you’ll be proud of.
