Aging Stable Appearance practically does not change over time. Colour, gloss and surface texture remain the same even after months of regular use.
Maintenance Maintenance-free No special care needed. Just rinse with water or wipe with a cloth — that is all.

What acetal is

An engineering plastic (POM) with high stiffness and a smooth, slick surface. It holds its dimensions, doesn't creak and doesn't rattle – a buckle made from it clicks shut the same way every time.

Why we use it

Side release buckles, keepers, clasps and sliders – the largest part of our plastic hardware. Acetal carries the load of everyday walks and is unaffected by water, mud or salt.

When to choose it and when to look elsewhere

  • Light collars and harnesses – won't weigh anything down and won't rattle.
  • Dogs that swim, and winter – it does not corrode and does not feel cold; for hard frost we have a frost-resistant blend.

For products meant for the strongest dogs, choose metal – zinc alloy or 7075 alloy.

How it ages and how to care for it

Virtually maintenance-free – rinsing with water is enough. It doesn't age, doesn't soften, and holds its shape.

Good to know

Acetal's slickness is no accident – it is also used to make bearings. That's why webbing slides smoothly through a keeper without wearing it down.
