How polishing is made

Mechanical polishing to a high shine. No added layer, just a refined material surface.

What it gives the product

A mirror shine in the material's own colour: silver on stainless steel, golden on brass, bronze on bronze.

When to choose it and when not to

Materials that don't need protection: stainless steel, brass, bronze. Fingerprints and micro-scratches show up more on a shine; brushing is the more muted option.

How it ages

Everyday wear slowly turns the shine into a fine satin; on brass the patina works alongside it too.

What it pairs with

Classic leather goods: shine and smooth leather are a timeless combination.

  • Corrosion protection

    No added protection

The finish does not increase corrosion resistance. Either the underlying material does not need it, or the finish is purely aesthetic.

  • Nickel

    No

The finish contains no nickel in any layer. When making products for sensitive skin, also check the base material and every other component that touches the wearer.

  • Aging

    Gradually dulls

Gradually loses some of its original gloss and may change tone slightly. This is a visual change and does not by itself affect the function of the part.

  • Process

    Mechanical

Surface is modified physically, by grinding, polishing or brushing. Adds no extra layer; only changes the structure and texture of the material surface itself.
