How nickel plating is made
An electroplated layer of nickel – the standard for metal hardware for decades.
What it gives the product
A silver shine a shade warmer than chrome, and good protection for everyday outdoor use.
When to choose it and when not to
An affordable shine for most products. Nickel sits right on the surface – for an allergy, choose stainless steel, a nickel-free finish, or matte black instead.
How it ages
It gradually dulls and wear points lighten; on an everyday collar that takes years.
What it pairs with
A neutral silver that goes with any colour; brushed nickel completes a matched set.
