It all began with a dream: to create a store where saddlers could find everything they need for their work. A dream, now 37 years running, and one of which 98,241 of you have become a part already. We wish to thank you! We started as a little store, with no employees and a limited number of products. By now, we have grown into an internet business that supplies saddlery hardware globally. So, how had it all begun?
1989
Our story starts in a small pet shop, founded in Přerov by Jan Grác. He’s finding his way in the world of business and learning about the needs of customers and sellers alike.
1992
After the experience with selling animals, we move to new premises and begin to specialize in the production and sale of items needed by their breeders, such as chains and rope leashes.
1997
We look at all the stock we lost with tears in our eyes because it got damaged or destroyed in the major floods. But roll up our sleeves to start from scratch again.
2000
A few years later, we can offer a comprehensive range of saddlery hardware already, selling mainly to domestic markets and occasional foreign customers.
2010
A success worth celebrating, as the goods for export account for more than half of all sales now. Thanks to participating in international trade fairs and launching an online store, we are increasingly earning goodwill from customers all over the world.
2013
For their quality and reasonable price, our goods are more and more in demand. Almost 2/3 of the goods are now exported, and the current premises begin to feel small.
2017
After several years of effort, we are moving to a newly built warehouse, which allows us to add hundreds of new products to our range and to fulfill orders faster than ever before.
2020
Over its 37-year history, Pet Hardware, a Czech family company, has achieved the status of a reliable seller of saddlery hardware and fittings of a quality that is appreciated by customers from 155 countries around the world.
2022
We are expanding our team with new colleagues in the warehouse and customer service. We are increasing our portfolio with hundreds of new products and finishing a completely redesigned catalog.
2025
We’ve built a new warehouse and a saddlery workshop to test products and create useful videos for you. With our in-house saddler, we’re here to provide expert advice and inspiration for your work.
About us
Tough beginnings…
I have been interested in business since I was young. After several years spent selling collars and leashes, I knew I wanted to create a company that would change the way saddlers and small manufacturers buy fittings, chains, ropes, and leather for their products.
Those times when I had to search for reliable product suppliers worldwide and then with a carload of those products go to visit the saddlers were hard, yet great. I could feel that there must be a better way to bring our products closer to the people. The internet is that way, and thanks to my son Martin we were able to fully use its potential.
What started as an idea 37 years ago has now become a reality - thanks to the hard work both of myself and by my amazing team of people. I am proud to be able to watch the next generation of Grác taking care of the reputation of our family business, Pet Hardware.
