How grey is made
A gunmetal-type electroplated finish: a dark grey metallic layer deposited in a bath. No nickel.
What it gives the product
A graphite tone between silver and black – dark hardware that doesn't feel as harsh as matte black.
When to choose it and when not to
Saddlery rings and D-rings for muted colour combinations. The layer is thin, like other electroplated finishes – for extreme abrasion, choose matte black with its thicker coating instead.
How it ages
It gradually dulls; friction points may lighten.
What it pairs with
Grey, olive and black webbing; it also sits well with reflective elements.
