## Description and construction

Metal sliding bar adjustable buckle slide (square shaped). Used most often as a tightening or shortening component. Excellent for use in making luggage (trunks, backpacks, purses, bags and cases) or sporting (suspension webbing etc.) and canine equipment (collars). Choose from sizes 16–40 mm.


## Limits and maintenance

* Tolerates contact with water — rain, wet grass, damp hands. With regular soaking the finish ages faster and loses appearance. Better to dry after wetting.
* Provides a temporary barrier against moisture. Works well in dry environments, but protection weakens over time with regular contact with water or sweat.
* Thin decorative coating that gradually wears through with regular wear and friction. Wear shows fairly quickly at points where buckle or snap contacts the strap, ring or fur.
* At points of regular friction — typically the buckle edge, snap contact point or strap — the finish gradually wears through and the base material shows beneath.
