## Description and construction

Unlike plastic snaps, the metal construction lasts infinitely longer, looks much more professional, and can handle some seriously rough treatment.

The saddler snap fastener is a classic that won't let you down. The four-part construction creates a secure closure that you can snap and unsnap practically forever without losing any strength or quality. It withstands washing, weather, and heavy everyday use. Velcro might be quick to fasten, but these snaps will last you for years without needing a replacement.

This variant has been tweaked so that the visible cap remains smooth and perfectly shaped after setting. The cap and its post are made of brass, while the remaining three parts of the fastener are stainless steel. We chose the brass component to make setting easier and to minimize any deformation on the visible side.

Important notice: This snap is not fully stainless steel. The visible cap and post are made of brass, while the other three parts are stainless steel. For a 100% stainless steel option, choose product #SS805-15 (keep in mind that due to the hardness of stainless steel, the cap might slightly deform during setting).


## Limits and maintenance

* The finish does not increase corrosion resistance. Either the underlying material does not need it, or the finish is purely aesthetic.
* Resists daily use even with active dogs. The surface holds its original appearance for a long time, even when in contact with straps, snaps or other hard surfaces.
* Over time loses its original gloss and the tone changes slightly. This does not affect function, but the surface eventually does not look as fresh as at the start.
