## Description and construction

Two-part saddlery rivet with bite (a very useful notch near the tip of the stem) that will speed up the riveting process, primarily for belts, collars and harnesses, and increase the strength of the join. Single cap rivets are used in places where only one side of the rivet is visible (belts, trunks, flap closure leather bags, … ). The price listed is for the entire package (1000 pcs)!

For proper riveting, it is essential to choose the right tool both for creating the hole and for setting the rivet itself. For making the hole, we recommend punches #KEM/LSHP30 or #211700STP-6. For riveting using the hand press #3990-00, use dies #3997-20 Z. For manual riveting, tools #8101-20 Z or #RS/6x100 are suitable. The size of the die or setting tool must always be selected according to the rivet size. You can also find suitable riveting tools among the recommended products below. The correct tool will be displayed based on the rivet size you select.

How to chose the correct-length rivet?

Whether we work with leather, webbing or fabric, the thickness of the material is always the deciding factor. For a the rivet to spread properly, choose one that is about 2–3 mm longer than the total thickness of the material. For rivet length see dimension "B" in the table.

## Limits and maintenance

* Handles typical outdoor conditions without issue — rain, mud, moisture, sweat. No need to dry or treat specially after every water contact.
* Reliably protects the underlying material during typical outdoor use — rain, dew, occasional wetting. May not be sufficient for permanently wet environments.
* Handles normal everyday wear. At exposed points — where regular friction or contact with other metals occurs — traces of wear may appear over time.
* Over time loses its original gloss and the tone changes slightly. This does not affect function, but the surface eventually does not look as fresh as at the start.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### How do I choose the right rivet length?

The total thickness of the layers you're joining decides — add to it the shank overhang needed for spreading:

Thinner materials — a shank 1–2 mm longer than the material thickness.

Thicker materials — a shank 2–3 mm longer.

The shank length is listed for every rivet in the dimensions table as dimension B — the full range is in the Rivets & Screws category.

The hole diameter differs by material. For leather, choose a punch slightly smaller than the shank diameter — leather is elastic and grips the shank tightly. For waterproof webbing, choose a punch that matches the shank exactly; the webbing doesn't stretch, so the shank has to pass through without being forced.

A shank that's too long shows up as a rivet that deforms while spreading, or caps that don't line up.
