## Description and construction

A basic Chicago screw for belts and collars or for joining two materials. It has two parts: a hollow post with an internal thread and a solid head, which works as a closed nut, and a matching screw that tightens the joint. A screwed joint comes apart quickly, for example when you change a belt buckle. Finish: nickel plated. The price is for the whole pack.

Please note: the screw heads are made of zinc alloy. If you want a screw made entirely of steel, choose #SPH-4.

How to choose the right screw length?

The total thickness of the joined material decides, whether it is leather, webbing or anything else. The length of the screw post (value B in the table) should be 2 mm less than that thickness.

Tip: To keep the joint from working loose over time, put a drop of thread-locking adhesive #1918997 on the thread before you screw it together.


## Limits and maintenance

* Suitable for typical outdoor exposure to rain, mud, moisture and sweat. Follow any care requirements of the base material and the complete product.
* Protects the underlying material during typical outdoor exposure to rain, dew and occasional wetting. It may not be sufficient for permanently wet environments.
* Suitable for normal everyday use. Traces of wear may gradually appear at exposed points with regular friction or contact with other metal parts.
* Gradually loses some of its original gloss and may change tone slightly. This is a visual change and does not by itself affect the function of the part.
