## Description and construction

We all know how frustrating it is to create a slot for a buckle tongue by punching two round holes and then slowly cutting the rest with a scalpel. And the result rarely looks as professional as you would like. With Kemovan oval punches, all it takes is a single precise strike and the perfectly clean slot is done. Whether you are making belts, dog collars, or bag straps, this tool will dramatically speed up your work and save you a lot of frustration.

Three most commonly used sizes: Choose exactly the length your buckles require: 16, 20, or 25 mm (with an ideal slot width of 5 mm). No more improvising – just pure precision.
Clean cuts even through thick leather: Forget frayed edges and uneven cuts. The punch goes through the material cleanly and leaves behind a perfect oval. Every belt will look like it came from a master craftsman.
Smart tapered shape: Cut-outs do not get stuck inside. Thanks to the slightly widening interior, the waste pieces pass smoothly through. No constant cleaning of a clogged tool – the work flows effortlessly.

Warning: This punch is designed primarily for leather. It is NOT SUITABLE for punching holes in waterproof webbings or BioThane®.

We also recommend

Wax #2015-00 and the protective board #3464-00 for maximum protection and longer edge life. We also recommend using a mallet with a polyurethane head #3303-11 to avoid damaging the striking surface of the tool.


## Limits and maintenance

* Water causes corrosion, swelling, mould or other damage. Must be dried immediately after wetting, and even then permanent deterioration is a risk.
* Without surface treatment it will start to rust as soon as it comes into contact with moisture. Rust gradually compromises both function and appearance — surface protection is a necessity.
* To keep the material in good condition and looking good, it needs regular attention — treating, oiling or impregnating. Neglect significantly shortens its lifespan.
* Without a protective surface finish it deteriorates functionally and visually over time. Manifests as colour loss, surface roughening or the formation of rust.
