## Description and construction

A metal side-release buckle made from zinc alloy with a antique brass finish is suitable for the production of collars, straps, belts, backpacks, and other leather goods. Compared to plastic versions, it gives the finished product a more distinctive and premium look. It pairs well with other hardware in the same finish, allowing you to create a visually consistent product.

The buckle features a slightly curved shape, making it ideal for products where not only function but also comfortable fit on the finished product is important. It is available in 8 sizes, making it easy to choose the right option for your specific application.

How to care for the hardware

Even hardware needs basic care. Watch the video where we show how to maintain it so it retains its functionality for as long as possible.

Notice:

We do not recommend washing products with this hardware in a washing machine or drying them in a tumble dryer. If the product gets wet, we recommend drying it thoroughly. Prolonged exposure to moisture is not suitable for the internal fastening mechanism. At low temperatures, zinc alloy may be more sensitive to impact, so we do not recommend exposing frozen hardware to shocks or rough handling.

Due to its smaller width, this buckle cannot be used in combination with our waterproof straps in sizes 15 and 40 mm.


## Limits and maintenance

* Tolerates contact with water — rain, wet grass, damp hands. With regular soaking the finish ages faster and loses appearance. Better to dry after wetting.
* The finish does not increase corrosion resistance. Either the underlying material does not need it, or the finish is purely aesthetic.
* Thin decorative coating that gradually wears through with regular wear and friction. Wear shows fairly quickly at points where buckle or snap contacts the strap, ring or fur.
* Surface is designed to change over time. Ageing deepens the character of the finish — the product looks different after a year than when new, and that is intentional, not a defect. Each piece ages slightly differently.
