## Description and construction

The Cobra® FM buckle by AustriAlpin is made from 7075 aluminium alloy. Weighing from just 17 g, it won't add unnecessary weight to your dog's neck. With a 20–25 mm webbing slot, it works well for collars for small and medium-sized dogs or lightweight tactical gear.

Materials and features

    7075 aluminium alloy: This material offers exceptional strength while remaining lightweight. Precision CNC machining ensures tight manufacturing tolerances, allowing both halves of the buckle to fit together securely and reliably.
    Dual-side safety lock: The buckle releases only when both side buttons are pressed simultaneously. This reduces the risk of accidental opening if pressure is applied to just one side (for example, when a dog brushes against an obstacle).
    Webbing compatibility: The buckle accepts materials up to 3.5 mm thick. Within this limit, it can be used with both our waterproof webbings and polypropylene webbings.

Limitations and notes

Limited-edition finish: Individual buckles from this series may vary slightly in colour and surface texture. These differences have no effect on their mechanical strength or durability.
    Sensitive to dirt: The tight manufacturing tolerances of the mechanism make it less tolerant of contamination. Fine sand, salt, or dried mud can interfere with the springs. If this happens, rinse the buckle thoroughly with clean water.


## Limits and maintenance

* Tolerates occasional contact with rain, wet grass or damp hands. Regular soaking accelerates visible wear, so dry the surface after it becomes wet.
* Provides a temporary barrier against moisture. Works well in dry environments, but protection weakens over time with regular contact with water or sweat.
* Thin decorative coating that gradually wears through with regular wear and friction. Wear appears first where a buckle or snap contacts the strap, ring or fur.
* At points of regular friction — typically the buckle edge, snap contact point or strap — the finish gradually wears through and the base material shows beneath.
