## Description and construction

This standalone bottom part of the LOXX® system screws directly into solid materials such as wood, plastic, or fiberglass. Its head acts as a fixed ball stud onto which you snap a compatible LOXX® top part. The result is a secure fastening with a self-locking mechanism that reduces the risk of accidental release. Compared to standard press studs, it holds better under pull from different directions. You release it only by deliberately pulling the top part's cap.

From guitar straps to cover tarps

With a 10 mm thread length, this screw stud works wherever you need to create an anchor point in a solid base. Guitar and bass guitar makers mount it into wooden instrument bodies because it offers a more secure strap attachment than a standard strap button. It's also used to fix car carpets, cover tarps, or upholstery in motorhomes and boats.

The stainless steel thread and nickel-plated brass hold up well against corrosion. Under the head you'll find an integrated hex nut for easy tightening with a standard open-end wrench.

Important notes and correct installation

    Watch the material thickness: Measure the base before installation. With thinner panels, there's a risk of drilling all the way through.
    Pre-drilling is a must: When installing into hardwood or laminate, always pre-drill the hole. Tighten the screw carefully and by hand only. Otherwise you risk cracking the finish, splitting the material, or stripping the thread.
    Not for soft joints: If you're joining two layers of leather or fabric, don't use this screw. Reach for the bottom part with a round washer instead.

## Limits and maintenance

* Handles typical outdoor conditions without issue — rain, mud, moisture, sweat. No need to dry or treat specially after every water contact.
* Reliably protects the underlying material during typical outdoor use — rain, dew, occasional wetting. May not be sufficient for permanently wet environments.
* Handles normal everyday wear. At exposed points — where regular friction or contact with other metals occurs — traces of wear may appear over time.
* Over time loses its original gloss and the tone changes slightly. This does not affect function, but the surface eventually does not look as fresh as at the start.
