## Description and construction

A metal loop that holds firm – and will not slip, even when the webbing is tensioned to the maximum. This is exactly why manufacturers of collars, harnesses, and bags choose metal. Unlike plastic, a steel loop with a (gold tone) finish withstands impact loads and long-term use without deformation. When a dog suddenly lunges or a bag is put under strain, the shape of the loop remains stable and the webbing adjustment stays precise.

  
No more loose ends: The loop reliably secures the free end of the webbing. Nothing slips out, and everything stays exactly where it should. 
Metal endures more: For collars designed for large breeds or for heavy-duty luggage where the webbing carries substantial weight, a steel loop enhances the overall strength and service life of the product.

Steel is slightly heavier than plastic. It pays off where the webbing carries a heavy load or is adjusted often: on collars for large breeds, harnesses and heavy bags.
Stronger choice for higher loads: This loop is spot-welded, retains its shape under heavier load, and minimizes the risk of opening up.


## Limits and maintenance

* Tolerates occasional contact with rain, wet grass or damp hands. Regular soaking accelerates visible wear, so dry the surface after it becomes wet.
* Provides a temporary barrier against moisture. Works well in dry environments, but protection weakens over time with regular contact with water or sweat.
* Suitable for normal everyday use. Traces of wear may gradually appear at exposed points with regular friction or contact with other metal parts.
* At points of regular friction (typically the buckle edge, snap contact point or strap) the finish gradually wears through and the base material shows beneath.
