## Description and construction

A key chain made of short, 2 mm thick, brass plated links. The chain has a haberdashery snap on one end and a 13 mm diameter key ring on the other. It will be most often utilized to secure keys, and in the manufacture of wallets or small purses.

## Limits and maintenance

* Tolerates contact with water — rain, wet grass, damp hands. With regular soaking the finish ages faster and loses appearance. Better to dry after wetting.
* Provides a temporary barrier against moisture. Works well in dry environments, but protection weakens over time with regular contact with water or sweat.
* Thin decorative coating that gradually wears through with regular wear and friction. Wear shows fairly quickly at points where buckle or snap contacts the strap, ring or fur.
* At points of regular friction — typically the buckle edge, snap contact point or strap — the finish gradually wears through and the base material shows beneath.
