## Description and construction

Fiebing’s Resolene is the standard in final finishes for leather goods exposed to demanding conditions. It is a water-based acrylic emulsion that, once dry, creates a thin but highly durable polymer film on the surface of the leather. This barrier effectively seals the pigment in the leather and prevents it from rubbing off or washing out.

Due to its chemical composition, Resolene is an ideal choice for saddlery, the production of collars, leashes, and outdoor equipment where resistance to sweat, moisture, and weather conditions is required.

Key features for production:

High water resistance: Creates a barrier that protects the leather from moisture and prevents damage to the material caused by soaking.
Flexibility and elasticity: The finish does not crack even in high-stress areas (strap bends, buckle areas). It follows the movement of the leather without peeling.
UV stability: Helps protect the color from fading due to sunlight.
Surface appearance: After application and drying, it leaves the surface unified with a medium to high gloss (High Gloss).

Recommended application and technical data:
Gently stir (do not shake) the product before use. Apply to clean, dry leather in long, one-way strokes. Slightly dampen the applicator or sponge with water before work. If using a spray gun, apply one thin layer and let it dry thoroughly. Resolene is essential for fixing antique effects, e.g., Fiebing's Antique Finish (#21980-00), where it ensures pigment stability and abrasion resistance.

Not suitable for suede or brushed leathers.
