## Description and construction

Know what a halter looks like when it keeps its shape, doesn’t twist, and doesn’t have a tangle of crossed straps cluttering up the side? That’s exactly where the heavy-duty 2 sided halter square comes in. One component keeps the straps neatly aligned while also providing a sturdy eye for attaching a ring or snap hook – clean, straightforward, robust, and without unnecessary extra connectors.

    Heavy-duty profile – thicker walls and a robust construction reliably withstand high pulling forces and demanding use with large animals.
    Clean strap routing without crossing – the straps stay aligned, the halter twists less, and its geometry stays exactly where you want it.
    Simpler than the 3 sided version – if you don’t need a third direction, the 2 sided solution is more compact and looks “lighter” on the animal’s head.
    Integrated attachment eye – the round eye provides a stable attachment point for a snap hook/ring, so there’s no need to add extra components.
    Faster production and repairs – fewer parts mean less stitching, fewer places where something can come loose, and easier servicing without taking half the tack apart.

For pony or foal halters, or more delicate webbing assemblies where heavy hardware would be unnecessarily bulky, we recommend the lightweight version #B3690/20.

Special notice

Before sewing, make sure the straps fit the internal dimensions of the square precisely – you’ll find this measurement in the diagram as parameter “B”. This ensures the halter holds its shape properly and prevents the strap from bunching up in the corner.

TIP: Brass naturally oxidizes and darkens over time – it’s not a defect, just the metal reacting with air. You can restore its shine with #SITOL300G paste. To prevent darkening, apply the clear lacquer #637005/GLOSSY.


## Limits and maintenance

* The finish does not increase corrosion resistance. Either the underlying material does not need it, or the finish is purely aesthetic.
* Resists daily use even with active dogs. The surface holds its original appearance for a long time, even when in contact with straps, snaps or other hard surfaces.
* Over time loses its original gloss and the tone changes slightly. This does not affect function, but the surface eventually does not look as fresh as at the start.
