## Description and construction

Use this stainless steel clasp to make leather bracelets. Its smooth, rounded shape helps reduce the risk of snagging on clothing.

Material and Features

    AISI 316 stainless steel: Resistant to corrosion, perspiration and salt water. This makes the hardware suitable for use by the sea or on boats.
    Weight 5–7 g: The low weight keeps the overall weight of the bracelet to a minimum.
    Color options: Different finishes let you match the hardware to the leather or create a contrasting look.

Installation and Notes for Manufacturers
Glued connection: The hardware has no secondary mechanical locking system (no set screw or rivet). Secure the leather inside the clasp with adhesive only. Trim the end of the leather precisely to the internal dimensions of the clasp. Degrease the bonding surface before applying the adhesive.

Recommended Materials and Supplies

    Flat and Square Leather Cords: Ready-made leather cords that match the selected clasp sizes precisely. You can also cut your own leather to size.
    Loctite 401 adhesive #8142575: A proven adhesive for securing leather straps inside the stainless steel socket.


## Limits and maintenance

* Tolerates occasional contact with rain, wet grass or damp hands. Regular soaking accelerates visible wear, so dry the surface after it becomes wet.
* Provides a temporary barrier against moisture. Works well in dry environments, but protection weakens over time with regular contact with water or sweat.
* Suitable for normal everyday use. Traces of wear may gradually appear at exposed points with regular friction or contact with other metal parts.
* At points of regular friction (typically the buckle edge, snap contact point or strap) the finish gradually wears through and the base material shows beneath.
